Pune: Rs One Crore Loan Taken By Misusing Documents Given For Visa, State Bank of India Branch Manager Among 4 Booked

Pune, 15th February 2022: A case has been filed against a bank manager for allegedly availing a loan of Rs one crore by misusing the signatures and documents submitted for visa issuance.

A 53-year-old resident of Sun City Road, Wadgaon, Pune has lodged a complaint at Shivajinagar Police Station. Accordingly, police have taken the action against Pushkar Tapare, Pushkar Wangikar, and Pramod Kulkarni, Manager Of State Bank Of India (SBI), Vidyapeeth Road Branch. An FIR has been lodged against them.

The incident took place at State Bank Of India’s Vidyapeeth Road Branch Between January 2018 and November 2021.

According to the information given by the police, the accused conspired to gain the trust of the complainant. The accused forged his signature by misusing the documents provided for visa issuance and creating fake documents. With the help of SBI branch manager Pramod Kulkarni and other officers and employees of the bank, the accused created a loan account in the name of the complainant.

A total of Rs one crore and four lakh was borrowed for the purchase of two mini Cooper four-wheelers at the cost of Rs 52 lakh each. The complainant did not have any information that the loan was taken out by misusing their documents.

The fraud came to light when Rs 3.53 lakh was deducted from his account and started enquiring with the bank.

Police Inspector Anita More is further investigating the case further.
