Pune: Expressway Fatal Accident That Killed 4 Persons Was Due To Tyre Burst

Lonavala, 15th February 2022: Four persons from Solapur died on the spot in an accident when a truck’s tyre burst at Borghat on the Pune-Mumbai Expressway.

The accident took place near Khopoli at around 6:40 am today. The accident happened when Six vehicles collided with each other.

The deceased persons have been identified as Gaurav Kharat (36), Saurabh Tulshi (32), Siddhartha Rajguru (31), all residents of Solapur, and Mayur Dayanand Kadam of Tuljapur.

The vehicles involved in the accident included one container, two cars, two trucks and one tempo.

According to highway police, due to a flat tyre at 39.000 km mark, the truck came to a halt on the first lane towards Mumbai, causing a traffic jam up to 40.000 km, and traffic was moving at a slow speed. The truck driver lost control of the wheels and hit a Swift car and tempo from behind which caused the vehicles to hit front vehicles. The victims in the Swift car died on the spot in the accident.

Also, three passengers in another car sustained minor injuries and were given first aid in an ambulance. Four passengers who were in the tempo has been sent to a hospital due to blunt trauma.
