Pune: Ruby Hall Clinic Hosts Free FibroScan Camp on Global Fatty Liver Day to Promote Preventive Health

Pune, 19th June 2025: In a significant step toward promoting preventive healthcare, Ruby Hall Clinic’s Department of Gastroenterology & GI Endoscopy, in collaboration with the Human Resources Department, organized a Free FibroScan Camp on the occasion of Global Fatty Liver Day on Thursday, June 12, 2025.
Fatty liver disease, particularly Non-Alcoholic Fatty Liver Disease (NAFLD), has emerged as a silent but growing epidemic in India. Alarmingly, it affects nearly 1 in 3 adults, many of whom are non-obese, asymptomatic, and unaware of their condition. Factors such as sedentary lifestyles, poor dietary habits, stress, and metabolic disorders like diabetes and hypertension have significantly increased the risk. Despite its seriousness, fatty liver disease remains largely underdiagnosed due to a lack of awareness and the absence of early symptoms. If not detected and managed in time, it can progress to Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH), cirrhosis, and even liver cancer.
The initiative, aimed at early detection and awareness of fatty liver disease, witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 100 employees who underwent non-invasive liver screenings using advanced FibroScan technology. The event served as a reminder of the rising burden of lifestyle-related liver disorders and the need for timely intervention.
Dr. Nitin Pai, Gastroenterology and Head of GI Endoscopy at Ruby Hall Clinic and Pune, “Fatty liver is one of the most common yet underdiagnosed conditions we see today, especially among urban working professionals,” said. “This camp allowed our staff to take charge of their liver health—and we hope it inspires more people to prioritize early screening.”
Dr. Purvez Grant, Chief Cardiologist and Chairman & Managing Trustee at Ruby Hall Clinic, stated, “At Ruby Hall Clinic, we believe that care begins within. By bringing preventive screening to our employees, we not only safeguard their health but also reinforce our commitment to a culture of wellness.”
Dr. Simon Grant, Physician and Trustee at Ruby Hall Clinic, “Health awareness is the first step toward disease prevention,” “The positive response to this camp shows how small initiatives can create meaningful impact.”
The event was seamlessly coordinated and well-executed by the Marketing Team, receiving heartfelt appreciation from participating staff. Ruby Hall Clinic remains steadfast in its mission to champion preventive care and will continue rolling out similar initiatives to encourage a healthier, informed workforce.
