Pune Rural Police Bust Interstate Gang in Violent Home Robbery Case

Pune, 6th March 2025: Pune Rural Police have successfully apprehended four out-of-state individuals involved in a violent armed robbery in Sahakar Nagar, Daund Tehsil. The joint operation by Yavat Police Station and the Local Crime Branch (LCB) led to the arrest of the suspects, who had broken into a home, stolen jewelry, and severely injured the occupants.
The incident occurred yesterday within the jurisdiction of Yavat Police Station, where two men and two women were beaten during a home invasion. One of the injured women filed a complaint, prompting the formation of seven investigation teams from Yavat Police Station and the LCB.
Through analysis of CCTV footage and information from a confidential source, the police tracked two suspects to the Pune Railway Station area. Salman Shaikh (28) and Momin Shaikh (45), both residents of Uttar Pradesh, were intercepted and arrested in Yerawada while attempting to flee.
The remaining two accomplices, Ravat Singh Tomar (26) and Gulshan Khan (25), also from Uttar Pradesh, were apprehended when they returned to retrieve a bag they had dropped during their escape. This bag contained crucial evidence that aided the investigation.
