Pune: Sangvi Resident Falls Victim to Work-from-Home Scam, Loses Rs 11.51 Lakh

Sangvi, 24th November 2023: A Sangvi resident was defrauded of ₹11.51 lakh by falling prey to the allure of earning substantial income through a work-from-home scheme. The incident unfolded between September 11 and November 22, prompting a 44-year-old man to file a complaint with the Sangvi police.

An official case has been registered against the perpetrator identified by the number 62856466146220 and an individual named Mahika, presumed to be the Human Resources representative of Cutshort HQ. The accused employed deceptive tactics, initially gaining the victim’s trust by assigning tasks related to Google location preferences.

Subsequently, the fraudster exploited the victim’s confidence, convincing them to invest in various schemes presented on a Telegram group. The Sangvi police are actively investigating the case.
