Pune: Section 144 Imposed At Tourist Places In Lonavala, Strict Weekend Lockdown To Be Implemented

Lonavala, 16th July 2021: Section 144 has been implemented in the Lonavala tourist area against the backdrop of the Covid. There will be ban on gathering of five more than five people at one place. Also, vehicles are banned within a kilometre of the waterfall.
For the last few days, it was observed that people were flocking to the tourist spots in Lonavala despite repeated appeals by Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar. Now new rules have been enacted today as citizens are crowding the place.
Thousands of tourists flock to Lonavala as soon as the Bhushi dam in Lonavala overflows and water starts flowing from the steps. People are not being allowed to visit the tourist spots on the backdrop of the Covid pandemic.
Every weekend about 1,000 tourists have been penalised by police for violating Covid norms.
Against this backdrop, Section 144 has been implemented at the tourist spots so that five or more persons cannot come together. At the same time, vehicles have been banned from entering the area within a kilometre of the waterfalls.
Senior Police Inspector Dilip Pawar of Lonavala city police station has appealed to the citizens not to crowd in the tourist places.
Where do these rules apply!
Bhushi Dam, Ghubad Lake, Lonavla Dam, Tungarli Dam, Rajmachi Point, Monkey Point, Amrutanjan Bridge, Valvan Dam, Ekvira Temple Complex, Vehergaon, Tiger Point, Lions Point, Shivling Point, Carla Caves, Bhaje Caves, Lohgad Fort, Visapur fort, Tikona fort, Pavana dam area, Bhaje waterfalls, one kilometre from dams.
These things not allowed
– Gathering of five or more than five people at any place
– Going into fast-flowing water, swimming in it
– Going to a waterfall or sitting under a stream of water
– Taking selfies and shooting videos at dangerous places
– Drinking and getting drunk in the vicinity of waterfalls created by rains, carrying alcohol, transporting alcohol, selling unauthorized liquor and drinking alcohol in the open
– Stopping vehicles on traffic roads and at dangerous places
– Driving carelessly while transporting vehicles, overtaking in a dangerous condition
-To throw food, garbage, glass and plastic bottles and thermocol and plastic materials in public places
– Harassing women in public places, tingling, making rude or obscene gestures, slandering or doing anything that would cause embarrassment
-Vehicles banned within 1 km of the waterfall
