Hadapsar, 27th December 2023: Following a recent road block movement led by Shiv Sena’s Pune city chief, Pramod Nana Bhangire, to address the escalating traffic issues in Hadapsar, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has taken immediate action. A meeting was convened with key officials, including Additional Commissioner Vikas Dhakne, to explore viable solutions to alleviate the traffic congestion in the Hadapsar area.

Hadapsar, along with adjoining areas such as Mundhwa, Keshav Nagar, and Manjari, has been grappling with severe traffic jams, causing significant disruptions for daily commuters. The persistently congested roads have become a major concern for residents and businesses in the region. IT companies, in particular, have contemplated relocating due to the ongoing traffic challenges.

In response to the escalating problem, Bhangire initiated a protest, drawing attention to the urgent need to resolve the traffic congestion in Hadapsar. PMC Officer Prasad Katkar intervened during the agitation, assuring that a comprehensive meeting would be arranged promptly to address the issues and decongest Hadapsar.

A meeting was held at the PMC, presided over by Additional Commissioner Dhakne, to discuss and strategize solutions for the traffic concerns raised by Bhangire. During the meeting, Bhangire proposed several measures, including the construction of a subway to Mundhwa through Ghorpadi and Koregaon Park, the removal of encroachments on the Keshav Nagar-Manjri road, and the management of obstacles like tree branches and utility poles.

PMC’s Aniruddha Pawaskar, Chief Engineer (Road), and other senior officials from various departments were also present on the occasion.
