Pune: Sainik Darbar Organized by District Collector Addresses Issues of Ex-Servicemen

Pune, 27th December 2023: In a dedicated effort to address the concerns and demands of ex-servicemen, a Sainik Darbar was organized under the leadership of District Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh. The event, held in the auditorium of the Collectorate, saw the participation of Resident Deputy Collector Jyoti Kadam, Zilla Parishad Deputy Chief Executive Officer Shrikant Kharat, Tehsildar Ajit Kurhade, and other officials.

A total of 58 applications were submitted during the Sainik Darbar, representing the concerns of wives, mothers, fathers of veteran soldiers, serving and retired officers, serving soldiers, ex-servicemen, and widowed wives in the district. The applications were thoroughly discussed, and instructions were provided to address the queries of the applicants, with some applications being resolved on the spot.

Additionally, orders were issued to forward 78 applications to the relevant departments for further action and follow-up. Collector Dr Deshmukh emphasized the commitment to organizing Sainik Darbars every three months, ensuring a regular platform to address and resolve the issues faced by ex-servicemen.

The initiative reflects the administration’s dedication to supporting and addressing the challenges of those who have served in the armed forces. The periodic organization of Sainik Darbars is expected to streamline the process of addressing concerns and facilitating a smoother resolution of issues faced by ex-servicemen in the district.
