Pune: Six Fire Tenders Deployed After Blaze Engulfs Warehouse on Lohegaon–Wagholi Road
Pune, 18th February 2026: A major fire broke out at a warehouse-cum-service facility along the busy Lohegaon–Wagholi Road on Wednesday, triggering a swift and coordinated response from multiple fire units across the city.
According to preliminary reports, the blaze erupted inside a shed structure that functioned as both a godown and a vehicle service centre. Thick columns of smoke were seen rising from the premises, alarming nearby residents and slowing traffic movement along the stretch.
Emergency teams from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) Fire Brigade and Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) rushed to the location. A total of six fire tenders were deployed to control the situation.
Firefighters initiated containment measures immediately, aiming to prevent the flames from spreading to neighbouring properties. Authorities said crews were engaged in active firefighting and cooling operations while securing the surrounding area to ensure public safety.
The cause of the fire is yet to be determined. Officials are currently assessing the extent of damage caused to the structure and its contents. No casualties were reported at the time of filing this report.
