Nana Peth, 15th October 2023: The renowned non-profit organization, Spread Happiness Foundation, continued its mission to empower underprivileged students by distributing education stationery and essential eatable items at the historic Mahatma Jyotirao Phule High School for Girls in Pune.

This school, established by the legendary Maharshi Vitthal Ramji Shinde and steeped in history, has long been a symbol of progress for marginalized communities. It was indeed an honor for Spread Happiness Foundation to be invited on the occasion of Navarathri Puja and contribute to this extraordinary legacy.

Maharshi Vitthal Ramji Shinde’s vision of the Depressed Classes Mission in 1906 laid the foundation for the educational and social upliftment of Dalits, and this school has remained committed to these ideals. Today, the majority of the students in this institution hail from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, making the Foundation’s efforts even more meaningful.

DCM Jyotiba Mahatma Phule School in Pune set a vibrant and spiritually uplifting atmosphere as they celebrated the festival of Dussehra with great enthusiasm and reverence. The celebration began with a ceremonial worship of Durgamata, symbolizing the victory of good over evil. The school’s students, brimming with devotion, gathered to pay homage to Durgamata, invoking blessings for the well-being of all. With the beats of traditional drums and the scent of incense filling the air, the atmosphere was charged with festive spirit. As part of the celebration, students sang devotional songs dedicated to Durgamata, creating a harmonious and spiritual ambiance. The melodious tunes resonated throughout the school premises, filling hearts with devotion and joy.

The school boasts deep historical significance, having been graced by luminaries such as Mahatma Jyotiba Phule, Sabitri Bai Phule, Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, and the Father of our Nation, Mahatma Gandhi, who have left their indelible footprints within its walls.

Spread Happiness Foundation’s founder shared his sentiments, expressing the belief that, together, they can create a brighter and happier future for these deserving students. Alongside him, key representatives from the organization, including Mr. Soumya, Anand Mahapatra, Pranati Sabat, Tushar Mohanta and Satya Das, were present to lend their support and efforts to this noble cause.

The school’s backbone, Principal Shilpa Shewale and General Secretary Kajol Shewale, along with Vishal Shewale, work tirelessly in shaping the futures of these students. Their dedication and passion serve as an inspiration to all who seek to promote education and equality.

In addition to the Foundation’s team, there was an outpouring of support from local social workers, exemplified by the commitment of Mr. Inderjeet Jagannath Sakat and Vishal Pawar, among many others.
