Pune: Start Railway Connecting Eastern Maharashtra To Konkan From Bhor Taluka: MP Supriya Sule

Pune, 18th March 2023: At present, there is no railway line connecting the Konkan Railway and the Western Railway line in Maharashtra, nor is there a dedicated railway line connecting the eastern part and the various ports in Konkan, for transporting goods on sea routes. Considering this, MP Supriya Sule has demanded to start a railway connecting Belsar-Walha-Lonand to Bhor taluka to Konkan Railway near Mahad.

Sule has made this demand by posting on social media. If this railway starts, it will help in bulk cargo and passenger transport in a cheaper and shorter time. An international airport is proposed at Purandar in the Baramati Assembly constituency. This will be of great benefit in promoting the development of the area. For this, the communication system must be strong and convenient for the people.

It would be beneficial to start a railway from Belsar-Walha-Lonand through Bhor taluka connecting the Konkan Railway. Purandar, Bhor, Walha, Mulshi, Baramati, Indapur, Daund, Khadakwasla in Pune district, Khandala, Phaltan, Wai, Maan, etc. in Satara district, as well as industrial and other development in West Maharashtra, Konkan region can be boosted.

This route can also be connected to the Pune-Miraj-Bangalore route. This is a short-distance route and it is convenient for the public.
Therefore, Sule has requested the Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to survey this route and take a positive decision regarding the same.
