Pune: Sub-Inspector Accused of Raping Young Woman Preparing for Police Recruitment
Pune, 16th April 2024: A case has been filed by the Shivajinagar police against a police sub-inspector on charges of raping and threatening a young woman who was preparing for police recruitment. According to the complaint lodged by the woman, the sub-inspector also coerced her into having an abortion at a hospital in the Jamkhed area (Ahmednagar) after threatening her.
The accused in this case is identified as Kiran Manik Mahamuni, a 38-year-old resident of Nagpur. The young woman, who is undergoing preparations for police recruitment, filed the complaint at the Shivajinagar Police Station.
The woman alleged that she was manipulated into a relationship by Mahamuni, who then sexually assaulted her multiple times at her residence in the Shivajinagar area, resulting in her pregnancy.
She was taken to a hospital in the Jamkhed area of Ahmednagar district, where she claims to have been threatened into undergoing an abortion. The complainant recently approached the Shivajinagar police station, and the investigation is being carried out by Police Sub-Inspector Kale.
