Pune: Police Officer Killed in Hit-and-Run Accident on Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway

Ravet, 16th April 2024: A police officer on his way home after finishing his duty from the Dehu Road Police Station was killed in an accident. His two-wheeler was struck by an unknown vehicle at Ravet on the Katraj-Dehu Road Bypass (Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway). The incident occurred on Monday Night (15th April) around 10:30 pm.

The officer, Sachin Narute, was 38 years old and resided in Wakad. He was working as a police constable at Dehu Road Police Station. After his shift ended on Monday, he left the police station around 10:00 PM to head home. While travelling on his bike (Registration Number – MH 14 GV 7750) towards Wakad on the Katraj-Dehu Road Bypass, his bike was hit by an unidentified, speeding vehicle at Ravet.

Narute sustained serious injuries in the collision and was rushed to a nearby hospital. However, doctors declared him dead upon arrival. The driver who caused the accident fled the scene without stopping. Narute is survived by his wife and two young daughters.
