Kharadi, 14th July 2025: A long-standing civic crisis in Thite Wasti, Kharadi, finally saw resolution as flooding inside homes—an annual nightmare for residents—was tackled head-on through the collective efforts of the PMC Warriors team and Pune Municipal Corporation’s Drainage Department.

For years, residents of Thite Wasti have struggled with severe waterlogging during monsoon season. Rainwater used to gush into homes, making daily life miserable and posing health and safety risks. With little to no respite in sight, local residents approached Jayesh Maduskar, Chairman of Nyati Elysia Cronus and a leading member of the PMC Warriors, along with Mr. Ram Sanap, seeking urgent help.

“We immediately rushed to the site with PMC’s Drainage Department team under the leadership of Chief Engineer Jagdish Khanire, supported by officers Hemant Desai and Vinayak Shinde,” said Jayesh Maduskar. “Along with Tithe Wasti representatives, we assessed the area on ground—the representatives showed us the actual scenario and supported the entire team throughout the process.”

“The collaborative effort led to the clearing of critical drainage blockages and implementation of measures to divert floodwater, bringing much-needed relief to the residents.” said Ram Sanap

In a further step toward long-term relief, PMC Warriors are now actively working with the Road Department on constructing a culvert in the area, which will drastically reduce flooding during heavy rains along with the DP road in front of Nyati Elysia for which the DPR preparation has started after the ground inspection happened between PMC warriors and PMC Road department

This success story is yet another example of the power of public-participation and administrative partnership. The PMC Warriors team—Jayesh Maduskar, Ram Sanap, Sagar Chaudhari, Ganesh Satras, Akshay Bachhal,Shankar Sharma, Brig.Pramod Singh (Retd),Satish R., Akhilesh Gautam, Tushar Goel and —have been actively working across Pune to resolve civic issues by collaborating closely with various PMC departments.

Representatives of Thite Wasti thanked the entire team for their swift action and dedication in resolving a crisis that had persisted for years, calling it a “turning point” for the local community.

Jayesh Maduskar also expressed his heartfelt thanks to PMC Commissioner Naval Kishore Ram for his visionary leadership and continuous support and guidance for all the initiatives.

With continuous support from the Sanitation SWM Department, the PMC Warriors are also organizing a large-scale cleaning drive as part of the “Mazha Pune, Swachh Pune” initiative, aiming to uplift the hygiene and aesthetic standards of the city.

This effort marks yet another milestone in citizen-led urban transformation, proving that sustained activism, when matched with responsive governance, can truly make a difference.
