Pune: Three Arrested For Throwing Ink On Guardian Minister, Case Registered For Attempt To Murder

Pune, 12th December 2022: Three persons have been arrested for throwing ink on the Guardian Minister Chandrakant Patil in Chinchwad.

 

A case of attempt to murder has been registered against them. Similarly, suspension action has also been taken against 11 police personnel.

 

The names of the accused arrested on Saturday are Manoj Bhaskar Garbade, Dhananjay Bhausaheb Ijagaj, and Vijay Dharma Owal. When they were produced in court, they were given three days of police custody. Journalist Govind Wakade of IBN Lokmat channel was called for an inquiry into this matter.

 

According to the police, the accused were arrested on the spot after the ink was thrown on the face of Chandrakant Patil, who had come for a program in Chinchwad on Saturday. Various charges, including an attempt to murder, have been registered against the accused. Journalist Wakade was in constant contact with the protesters, the police said. Similarly, 11 police officers have been suspended for lax enforcement. Chinchwad Police is conducting further investigation.

 

Patil made some controversial statements about Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Jotiba Phule and Karmaveer Bhaurao Patil during his speech. Against this backdrop, black flags were shown to Patil’s convoy at Chinchwad on Friday. Placards were also put up against him. The person who threw ink on Patil was arrested by the police on the spot. However, as a case of attempt to murder has been registered, the opposition is expressing anger.
