Pune: Three Arrested in Pimpri-Chinchwad for Illegal Pistol Trade, Notorious Criminal Among Accused
Pimpri Chinchwad, 31st May 2023: Bhosari police have apprehended three individuals who were attempting to sell pistols in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area. During the arrest, two pistols and two live cartridges were seized from the suspects.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Dilip Premnarayan Tiwari, Chandankumar Rai, and Sugan Kumar Rai. Of particular note, Dilip Tiwari is facing charges related to the murder of four individuals and the attempted murder of two others in Vasai. He had previously received a double life imprisonment sentence, but he was released on parole during the COVID-19 pandemic and failed to return to prison. The Bhosari police have now apprehended Tiwari, putting an end to his evasion.
According to the police, they received information about three unidentified individuals who were planning to sell firearms in the Bhosari area. Acting on this tip-off, the police set up a trap and successfully detained the suspects. During the arrest, two pistols and two live cartridges were recovered from them. Among the three accused, Dilip Prem Narayan Tiwari is a notorious criminal with previous involvement in a quadruple murder case and attempted murder in Vasai. Despite his double life imprisonment sentence, Tiwari was released on parole due to the COVID-19 situation and had failed to surrender. It was discovered that he had resorted to selling pistols before being apprehended by the Bhosari police.
The successful operation was conducted under the guidance of Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey, Deputy Commissioner of Police Vivek Patil, ACP Vishal Hire and Senior Police Inspector Bhaskar Jadhav.
The team included Assistant Police Inspector Kalyan Ghadge, Police Sub-Inspector Mukesh Mohare, and Police Constables Rakesh Boine, Sachin Garde, Navnath Pote, Dhondiram Kendra, Sagar Jadhav, Tushar Varade, Ashish Gopi, Pratibha Mule, Santosh Mahadik, Swami Narwade, Bhagyashree Jamdade and Sushma Patil.
