Pune: Three Minors Held For Killing 19-Year-Old On Sinhagad Road
Pune, 17th March 2026 : The crime branch of the Pune city police has detained three minors for allegedly murdering a 19-year-old youth in the Dhayari area on Monday evening. The accused were detained within two hours of the crime, said police.
The victim, identified as Karan Girish Kashid, was allegedly attacked with sharp weapons and sticks around 5.15 pm near a bungalow in Arvind Society, close to Maruti Mandir in Anandnagar on Sinhagad Road on March 16. Police said the assault took place in broad daylight and stemmed from a prior dispute between the victim and the accused.
Kashid sustained severe injuries in the attack and died on the spot, officials said.
A case has been registered at the Sinhagad Road police station under relevant provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, including those pertaining to murder, along with sections of the Maharashtra Police Act.
Police said the breakthrough came after officers analysed CCTV footage from the crime scene and nearby areas. Based on technical inputs and local intelligence, the crime branch team traced and detained the three juveniles.
During questioning, the accused allegedly confessed to their role in the offence and cited previous enmity as the motive, police said. They have since been handed over to the Sinhagad Road police for further investigation.
