Pune: Three-time Maharashtra Kesari Winner ACP Vijay Chauddhary to Represent India in International Wrestling Tournament
Pune, 19th July 2023: India’s wrestling sensation, Additional Superintendent of Police Vijay Chauddhary, is gearing up to represent the nation at the highly anticipated World Police and Fire Games. The prestigious tournament, scheduled from July 28 to August 6, will be hosted in Winnipeg, Canada.
Hailing from Saigaon Bagli in Chalisgaon district, Jalgaon, Chauddhary boasts an impressive track record as a three-time ‘Maharashtra Kesari’ champion, securing victories in 2014, 2015, and 2016.
Currently serving as the Additional Superintendent of Police in the Anti-Corruption Branch Pune Division, Chauddhary will showcase his prowess in the 125 kg heavyweight category. Under the mentorship of Hind Kesari Rohit Patel, he has been diligently training at the Mamasaheb Mohol Wrestling Complex in Katraj, adapting to the Canadian time zone in preparation for the international event.
Confident but aware of the tough competition, Chauddhary acknowledged the dominance of countries like Canada, Russia, USA, and China in the world police games. In light of this, he is leaving no stone unturned in his training efforts to ensure an outstanding performance on the global stage. The Maharashtra Police Force has been actively supporting him throughout his rigorous training regime.
Notably, Chauddhary’s excellence in wrestling has previously brought glory to the Maharashtra State Police Force when he clinched a gold medal at the All India Police Games held in 2022 at the SRPF Ground in Wanawadi, Pune.
The World Police and Fire Games are revered as the Olympics for law enforcement and firefighting professionals from around the world. With a determination to surpass his previous accomplishments, Chauddhary is determined to etch his name in history by securing a gold medal for India in this esteemed competition.
