Pune, 13th June 2023: Hinjawadi and Wakad residents can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the long-standing issue of waterlogging, which had been causing major traffic congestion in the area, has been successfully resolved. In addition, traffic monitoring has been significantly enhanced with the deployment of patrolling teams in key areas.

Assistant Police Inspector Ganesh Pawar from the Hinjawadi Traffic Division (Pimpri Chinchwad Police) expressed his satisfaction, stating, “Thanks to the efforts of the MIDC Phase 3 in Hinjawadi, drainage waterlogging problems in several locations have been resolved. Earlier, water used to accumulate due to blockages in the internal chambers near Grand Street Road, opposite the new PVR mall. After persistent communication and proposals, the MIDC has finally rectified the issue.”

Regarding the escalating traffic concerns, Pawar added, “With many offices in Hinjawadi resuming the work-from-office policy, the traffic volume in the area has significantly increased. However, residents need not worry, as we are prioritizing measures to address the traffic congestion issue effectively.”

Chairman of the Pimpri Chinchwad Housing Societies Federation, Dattatray Deshmukh, expressed his appreciation, saying, “We were grappling with these daily issues, and the commendable work done by the traffic department has brought us immense relief. We hope that any future concerns will be promptly resolved by the traffic police.”

Inspector Sunil Pinjan from Wakad Traffic Division highlighted the positive impact of implementing one-way traffic regulations from Bhumkar Chowk to Hinjawadi IT Park, which has significantly alleviated traffic congestion in the area.

To further alleviate congestion, the Hinjawadi traffic division has deployed 3 to 4 marshals (patrolling teams) in busy areas such as the market route from Shivaji Chowk to Wakad Naka. Each marshal team comprises two dedicated traffic wardens, enhancing traffic management efforts in the region.
