Pune: Treatment Not Affected at Shivajinagar Jumbo Facility Amid Heavy Rainfalls

Shivajinagar, October 15, 2020: With the water entering banks and hospitals, Pune reported the highest downpour surpassing the last ten years’ records. Meanwhile, the administration at the Jumbo facility located at the College of Engineering Pune (COEP) ground stood tall, ensuring that no amount of water enters inside the temporary COVID hospital premises.

The dedicated Jumbo facility did not report any problem from the heavy rainfalls on Wednesday. “We had no problem at all as our team did great work ensuring that no amount of water enters into the premises,” said Rubal Agarwal, Additional Municipal Commissioner, Pune Municipal corporation (PMC) and Executive Head of the Jumbo facility.

All the water has been continuously removed from the area so that there is no chance of water accumulating, as seen in the video. “Our team was equipped with heavy machinery to manage the removal of water from the premises, and the work continued till 1:30 am Thursday”, she said.

As many as 334 COVID-19 patients are currently admitted in the facility with 30 patients on ventilators support, six in Intensive care Unit (ICU), 16 on High Dependency Units (HDU) and 262 patients on oxygenated beds. “We had to ensure that all the patients admitted are safe and secure. The treatment was not stopped in any manner”, added Agarwal.
