Pune: Two Held With 8.78g MD Worth Rs 5.52 Lakh In Pimpri Chinchwad
Pimpri Chinchwad, 16th September 2026: The Anti-Narcotics Squad of the Pimpri Chinchwad crime branch arrested a man and a woman and seized 8.780 grams of MD (mephedrone) in Morwadi on September 13.
The action was carried out around 5.45pm on the road near Kapse Garden in Morwadi following a tip-off that some people would arrive there to sell narcotics.
Police identified the accused as Tanaji Venkatrao Kanure (42), a resident of Talwade, and a 38-year-old woman from Chikhali. Their alleged supplier, Mayur Keshav Padale of Kamshet, has also been booked.
Police laid a trap near Kapse Garden and detained Kanure and the woman. During a search, officers recovered 8.780 grams of MD, three mobile phones and a four-wheeler. The total value of the seized material and items was estimated at Rs 5.52 lakh.
According to police, Kanure told investigators that he had procured the MD from Padale in Kamshet for sale. A complaint was lodged by police constable Govind Devrao Doke of the Anti-Narcotics Squad.
