Pune: Two Involved In Illegal Fire Cracker Manufacturing Arrested, Explosive Material and Chemical Worth Rs 1 Lakh Seized

Pune 30th July 2023 : The Pimpri Chinchwad Police have arrested two people from the city and have seized explosives and chemical worth Rs 1 Lakh from their possession. The accused were using the seized material to manufacture firecrackers in the area.

 

According to police, the accused were not holding any permit to procure the explosives or chemicals and were illegally manufacturing firecrackers at Chikhali. The accused identified as Vikrant Raj Deshmukh (36), a resident of Pune’s Kasba Peth and Santosh Tayappa Shivshatan (44), a resident of Yerwada have been arrested in the matter.

 

A case in this regard has been registered at Chikhali Police Station under sections 285, 336, 188 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) along with sections 4 and 5 of the Explosives Substances Act and section 37 (1) 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
