Pune: Two Men Arrested By Pimpri Chinchwad Police For Burglaries, Silver Worth Rs 7 Lakh
Chinchwad, 5th October 2023: Pimpri Chinchwad Police’s Crime Branch Unit Two has arrested two individuals in connection with a series of housebreakings. The arrests have led to the recovery of jewellery valued at seven lakhs and half a kilogram of silver. This development has also helped solve a total of five crimes in the region.
The arrested suspects have been identified as Ram Laxman Kshirsagar, who operates a restaurant in Wagholi and Rahul Hiraman Lashkare, who runs an establishment near Ghousia Jama Masjid in the Kalakhadak Slum, Wakad.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Swapna Gore, the crimes date back to August 26 when multiple houses in the Kate Estate, Chovisawadi Charholi Dighi area, were burglarized during daylight hours. The culprits targeted six houses simultaneously.
The police managed to identify the two suspects by reviewing CCTV footage from the area. After an extensive search that spanned different cities including Latur, Osmanabad, Wagholi, Mumbai, and Pune, Rahul Lashkare and Ram Kshirsagar were apprehended in Wakad.
Upon their arrest, the police confiscated gold weighing 100 grams, 450 grams of silver jewellery, and a two-wheeler valued at seven lakhs from the suspects. This successful operation has shed light on a total of five crimes, with two cases falling under the jurisdiction of the Dighi police station, and one each under the Chinchwad, Lonikand, and Shirwal police stations.
The accused, Rahul Lashkare, has an extensive criminal record, with eleven serious crimes registered against him in various locations, including Dehu Road, Goregaon, Mahad Town, Ratnagiri, Chatush Vaida, and Wakad Police Station. On the other hand, Ram Kshirsagar has six serious crimes registered against him in Chinchwad, Hinjawadi, Mundhwa, Ratnagiri and Goregaon Police Station, among others.
