Pune University Seeks Suggestions On National Education Policy

Pune, 29th July 2022: The University Grants Commission (UGC) is constantly issuing circulars on how to implement the education policy better. Also, Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has appointed a committee for this. Savitribai Phule Pune University Pro-Chancellor Dr Sanjeev Sonawane appealed that the doubts, and suggestions should be submitted to the university so that the educational policy 2020 can be implemented in a better way.

The new National Education Policy came into effect two years ago on July 29, 2020, across the country. A special lecture was organized in the university on the second anniversary of this day where Dr Sanjeev Sonwane expressed his views.

Savitribai Phule Pune University’s ‘New Education Policy 2020’ implementation committee chairman and university management council member Rajesh Pande, committee member Rajeev Sabade and Dr Sanjay Chakane, Director of Student Development Board Dr Santosh Parchure etc were present on this occasion.

On this occasion, Dr Sonawane gave detailed information about the questioning method, discovery method, action method etc. in the new educational policy. He also informed about what will be covered in the 4-year degree course. He elaborated on the importance of experiential education and its need by giving examples.

On this occasion, Rajesh Pande said, “Colleges need to take this educational policy positively, otherwise everything will become irrelevant in the future. This policy has opened up all skies to students, allowed them to study whatever they want and brought about a great transformation in education. Let us all witness this transformation,”

Dr Chakane spoke about inclusive education and the academic bank of credits in the new education policy. The program was hosted by Swamiraj Bhise. The program was attended by heads of departments of the university and representatives of colleges.
