Pune: Vaccine On Wheels For Those Who Are Unable To Reach Vaccination Centres

Pune, 14th May 2021: The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to start vaccination drives on wheels from next week.

During a press conference, PMC Commissioner Vikram Kumar said, “The vaccine will be provided to orphanages, bedridden citizens and those are unable to reach the centre to get vaccines. Drive will start after the availability of vaccines.”

Pune Witnesses Zero Shadow Day Virtually In Lockdown

PMC has decided to deploy 15 units to provide vaccination services to adults and elderly people. The van will visit and vaccinate senior citizens.

According to PMC officials, “Vaccine On Wheels drive is in partnership with Rotary Club of Pune Central, and will bring together NGOs and CSR partners to fund various resources required to deploy 15 mobile vaccination units to immunize 0.1 million people in a month, within the PMC area.”

This initiative is started keeping in mind the senior citizens who are unable to reach the centres to get vaccinated. Vaccines on wheels will reach out to those people. PMC will map out plans to vaccinate most of the senior citizens in the city through this drive.
