Talegaon Dhamdhere, 15th May 2023: Due to the increasing intensity of summer day by day, agriculture, animal husbandry, poultry farming, as well as citizens dependent on the water of Vel Nadi are feeling acute water scarcity. That’s why the farmers here are waiting for the rotation of the command.

Kolhapuri dams in the Shikrapur-Talegaon Dhamdhere area have dried up. Both the villages and the settlements in this village have water supply systems from this dam. But due to the drying up of the dams, the water supply schemes in this area have come to a standstill and the citizens are facing acute water shortage in summer.

The highest temperature (43.6°C) in Shirur taluka has been recorded in Talegaon Dhamdhere village. Due to the lack of proper planning of water on behalf of the Irrigation Department, it is expressed from the reaction of the citizens that there is a difference in water distribution between the eastern part and the western part of Shirur.

The summer period has reached its final stage, and farmers and citizens are in dire need of water. However, if the water cycle is started immediately, the farmers, who are in trouble, will bloom with satisfaction.
