Pune: Veteran Engineer RB Suryavanshi honored with ‘BAI-Padma Shri BG Shirke Lifetime Achievement Award-Nirman Ratna’ for his remarkable contribution in the field of Civil Engineering

RB Suryavanshi expressed his gratitude towards BAI Pune for the honor and said, It’s a great pleasure and pride moment for me to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award in the name of Padma Shri BG Shirke from BAI Pune. For the last 58 years, he has been my friend, philosopher and guide. I got a chance to work with him. I took inspiration from him and worked till date. Under his guidance, leadership I could contribute in the field of engineering and construction all over the world. I am thankful to all the BAI Pune members and guests over here. I will work with full enthusiasm and capacity in future too. In this beautiful journey I am very proud of my family members, all staff and colleagues who have given valuable support.

Atul Gadgil briefed about Pune Metro project. He urged people to experience metro travel and visit all the metro stations to see innovativeness with historical value. Maha Metro is a company established by the Central and State Governments and is a very ideal model in the public sector. The project has been completed in just four years due to the untiring efforts of the staff, he added.

BAI Pune is the first center of association and it’s a pride moment for me to attend its 25th WBSC award function. I also feel proud to honor RB Suryavanshi, who has given tremendous and valuable contributions in the field of civil engineering. He is the inspirator to all of us. BAI should address all issues for the welfare of contractors, builders, developers and other stakeholders, Gupta urged.

Ashok Atkekar welcomed all and gave opening remarks. Mahesh Mirani compered the function, while Harpirt Anand gave vote of thanks.
