Pune: Vimantal Police Station Shifted Its Location to Viman Nagar

Viman Nagar, 10th March 2021: After 13 years, the Vimantal police station, which has jurisdiction over Viman Nagar and Lohegaon areas, has finally got its premises in its jurisdiction. Earlier it was operating from a rented building on the Pune-Ahmednagar highway. The Vimantal police station has now shifted near Khalsa Dairy in Viman Nagar.

Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta inaugurated the new premises of the police station. Addressing the residents, Gupta said, “I hope people will get better services. The new premises are spacious. But this is also not a permanent location. We will build a better building for the police station, which will be better than Koregaon Park police station”.

Vimantal police station was established in 2008 when the current Additional CP (Admin) Jalindar Supekar was then DCP of Zone 4. “The current Senior Police Inspector Gajanan Pawar, in-charge of Vimantal police station, took efforts to change the infrastructure and location of the police station in its jurisdiction,” DCP (Zone 4) Pankaj Deshmukh said.

Jt CP Ravindra Shisve, Add CP (Crime) Ashok Morale, Add CP (East Region) Namdev Chavan, Add CP (West Region) Sanjay Shinde, DCP (Special Branch) Mitesh Ghatte, ACP (Yerwada division) Kishor Jadhav and local residents were present on the occasion.
