Pune: Wagholi Residents Demand Justice After Hazardous Nails Found On Newly Repaired Road

Wagholi, 9th October 2023: Residents of Wagholi faced a distressing situation when nails were found scattered across a local road, sparking widespread anger. Large groups of residents gathered to assess the situation and remove the nails from the roadway.
The community is calling for action against those responsible for this hazardous act. The road had recently undergone renovations on Saturday to address potholes. It is worth noting that the road is currently the subject of a High Court dispute.
Anil Kumar Mishra, President of Wagholi Against Corruption (WACO), stated, “The situation of Temporary IVY Entrance Road is so pathetic that it’s become difficult for people to walk or drive their vehicles to reach the Highway (Nagar Road).”
He added, “The builder, PMRDA/PMC, and people’s representatives are all accountable for this dire situation. Accidents are occurring daily, and lives are being lost. Where are our MLA and MP?”
Residents expressed their concerns, saying, “They’ve placed black nails on black roads, making them hard to see and posing a serious risk.” Others urged, “Please document this; we need evidence of what’s happening here.”
