Pune : Woman arrested for demanding Rs 7 lakhs extortion for fake rape case

Pune, January 25, 2020: A young woman and her partner acquired numbers of HR managers of different companies in Pune city and contacted them for jobs, chatting through Whatsapp and asking them to meet.

After meeting she told them she would file a fake complaint against them for rape and asked for extortion. Complaints about this were received.

During the inquiry related to this, an incident came forth. HR of one company was trapped in this incident, she called him and asked him for a job, after meeting she said she would file a complaint against him for rape if he didn’t give her Rs seven lakh rupees.

According to the complaint she took Rs 45,000  and asked for remaining Rs 6.55 lakh  and threatened him time though call and WhatsApp, would threaten him for filing a complaint against him.

To get the remaining ransom, she called him at Kharadi bypass Pune. Police city police’ anti-extortion cell inspector Police Rajendra mohite, sub-inspector Nilesh Kumar Mahadik, constable Chikale, Kadam, P.N.Kokare, police constable Karnavar, Baraskar, the team of narcotics control bureau trapped her and caught red-handed. They confiscated two mobile phones, cash Rs 13,860. The FIR against the lady and her partner was registered in Chandan Nagar police station for offences under  384 (extortion), 506 (criminal intimidation), 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code.  A court has remanded her to police custody January 29 for further investigation.
