Pune: Woman Assistant Dies In ST Bus Collision With Shivshahi Bus At Depot
Pimpri Chinchwad, 9th May 2023: A female assistant in the mechanics department died in a tragic accident on Monday morning when an ST bus from the parking lot of Vallabhnagar depot rammed into a Shivshahi bus standing in front of it due to brake failure.
The incident occurred at 8:30 am, resulting in the death of Shilpa Kailas Gedam (38), a resident of ST Colony, Dapodi.
According to police, Shilpa was checking the oil in the Shivshahi bus when the driver of the Partur (Jalna) depot bus tried to get out of the parking lot. As the Ahmedpur (Latur) depot bus was parked in front of the Shivshahi bus, the conductor of the Partur bus sat on the seat of the Ahmedpur depot bus without permission and started the bus.
Due to low air pressure, the bus collided with the Shivshahi bus where Shilpa was checking oil, causing serious injuries and ultimately leading to her death.
Vasant Yamaji Rawate, a resident of Junnar, Pune, filed a complaint with Pimpri Police Station, and a case has been registered against the driver Prashant Ramesh Wadkar of Jalna.
