Shivajinagar, 30th May 2025: A shocking case of street violence unfolded in Pune’s Shivajinagar area when a 40-year-old man was bitten on the ear and stabbed, allegedly by a hostel owner’s daughter-in-law who accused him of teasing girls outside their premises.

According to the complaint filed at Deccan Police Station, the incident occurred on Monday afternoon outside Dutt Vasahat, near Shirole Road. The victim, Milind Vasant Kothari, a driver by profession, was chatting with his friends Abhijit Jadhav and Amit Khengre after lunch when the hostel owner, Suresh Vitthal Kamble (60), and his daughter-in-law confronted him.

“We Were Just Chatting,” Says Injured Victim
Kothari told the police that the two accused began arguing with him, accusing him of eve-teasing girls from the Lokmanya Girls Hostel. “We were just chatting, not teasing anyone,” Kothari reportedly told them. However, the situation quickly turned violent.

In the heat of the argument, the woman allegedly bit Kothari’s right ear so hard that it required five stitches. During the scuffle, she also reportedly stabbed him twice in the stomach with a sharp object.

Admitted to Sassoon Hospital with Multiple Injuries
Kothari was rushed to Sassoon General Hospital by his friends, where doctors confirmed he had sustained serious injuries — five stitches to his ear and two to his abdomen.

The Deccan police recorded his statement at the hospital and registered an FIR against both the accused.

Police Begin Probe, Accused Yet to Be Arrested
Police Sub-Inspector Pravin Kulkarni is currently leading the investigation. As of now, no arrests have been made.
