Pune 10th August 2023: In a shocking incident reported in the city, a 37-year-old woman has lodged a complaint against her husband and in-laws for allegedly harassing her over menstrual cycle. The woman in her complaint has alleged that her husband and in-laws kept her isolated during her menstrual periods and did not allow her to touch things in the house.

The woman has also alleged that the accused forced her to sleep on the ground and did not provide her food on time. Whenever she tried to object to this cruel treatment she was threatened and abused by the accused. This went on for over one year and later she was sent to her parent’s house.

However, the husband sent her a divorce notice when she was with her parents. The woman has now lodged a complaint with Vishrantwadi Police under sections 498 (A), 323, 504, 506 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) against three accused including her husband and in-laws. Further investigation in the matter is underway.
