Pune: Woman Police Constable Dies By Suicide After Being Harassed By Policeman

Daund, 5th November 2021: A 26-year-old woman police constable of the Mira Bhayandar Vasai Virar Police Commissionerate allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Daund taluka. The incident came to light on Thursday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Deepali Bapurao Kadam, a resident of Delwandi in Daund taluka in Pune district. She was posted at Manikpur police station in Zone-2 (Vasai).
According to police, she died by hanging herself at her residence after being repeatedly harassed by her colleague policeman Valmik Gajanan Ahire who worked at Tulinj police station. Before the suicide, she had sent a letter on WhatsApp to her brother narrating her ordeal.
Now, an FIR has been registered against Police Naik Ahire at Yavat police station under Pune rural police.
Police said that Deepali married a man from Bhosari about two months ago. Meanwhile, Ahire was harassing Deepali by calling her repeatedly.
