Wakad, 15th September 2025: A 21-year-old woman security guard has lodged a complaint with Wakad Police, alleging sexual assault by her senior officer at Phoenix Mall of the Millennium, Wakad.

According to the First Information Report (FIR), the complainant stated that she has been employed with a private security agency for the past 8–10 days. Her posting was at the mall, where she worked under the supervision of the 45-year-old officer, who had also conducted her recruitment interview.

The incident reportedly took place on September 10, around 4:20 p.m., when the officer approached her during duty at the Tower Club section of the mall. After sending away another guard on duty, he then asked her to accompany him to the sixth floor, where cleaning work was ongoing. The complainant told police that he dismissed a housekeeping staff member present there and then led her to the third floor.

In her statement, she alleged that the accused officer made inappropriate advances, touched her without consent, and later dragged her into a room where he attempted to sexually assault her. She resisted, shouting and physically pushing him away. Despite threats that no one would hear her cries for help, she managed to prevent the assault from going further. The accused then left the spot.

Shaken, the complainant later narrated the incident to her supervisor, who advised her to call her husband. She subsequently informed her husband and, accompanied by him, approached the police to file a formal complaint.

Police have registered the FIR and initiated an investigation into the allegations.
