Pune: Women Arrested As Pimpri-Chinchwad Crime Branch Busts Prostitution Ring in Hinjawadi, Rescues Two Victims

Hinjawadi, 3rd April 2024: The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) of the Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Crime Branch has taken decisive action against a woman who was operating a prostitution business from her residence in Marunji, enticing women with monetary incentives. On Monday (1st April) evening, two women who were in her custody were rescued during a police operation.
The police have arrested the implicated broker woman, and a case has been registered at the Hinjawadi Police Station in connection with this incident.
Following information received by the Immoral Human Trafficking Cell regarding a woman engaging young women in prostitution under the guise of financial gain at Marunji, situated within the jurisdiction of the Hinjawadi police station, a raid was conducted at the woman’s residence at 7:00 PM on Monday.
During the operation, the police successfully rescued two girls from the custody of the broker woman, who was subsequently apprehended.
This operation was carried out under the guidance and supervision of Commissioner of Police Vinoy Kumar Choubey, Additional Commissioner of Police Vasant Pardeshi, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sandeep Doifode, and Assistant Commissioner of Police (Crime) Dr Vishal Hire. The team included Police Inspector Devendra Chavan and the dedicated team from the AHTU, including Sunil Shirsat, Maruti Karchude, Bhagwanta Muthe, Ganesh Karote, Sudha Toke, Sangeeta Jadhav, and Sonali Mane.
