Bavdhan, 23rd May 2023: The “official deadline” for completion of the entire work in Chandni Chowk was decided on Maharashtra Day, 1st May. However, only 80 per cent of the work was completed by then. Looking at the pace of work in the last 20 days, now officials are saying that this work will be completed by 25th July.

The National Highway Authority of India (NHAI) has constructed 17 km at Chandni Chowk at a cost of Rs 397 crore. This includes roads such as ramps, service roads, and underpasses. 90 per cent of the total work in Chandni Chowk has now been completed. Now, only the main bridge remains.

The said bridge connecting Bavdhan-NDA will be 150 meters long and 32 meters wide as the previous bridge was just 50 meters long and 20 meters wide. The pillar of the old bridge was coming right in the middle of the road, which was causing traffic obstruction. As the pillars constructed for the new bridge will be on both sides of the road, it will not be a hindrance to the traffic, it was said that the entire work is aimed to be completed in 1-1.5 months.

Sanjay Kadam, Project Director, NHAI informed, “About 90 per cent of the work has now been completed. The work of laying the girders will be started from 25th May and all the main works of Chandni Chowk will be completed by 25th July”.
