Pune: Youth Preparing for Competitive Exams Dies in Road Accident

Loni Kalbhor, 12th May 2025: A young man preparing for competitive exams met with a fatal accident near Loni Kalbhor on the Pune-Solapur Highway after his motorcycle collided with a divider. The accident also left his companion injured.

The deceased, who was studying at the “Swa-Roopwardhinee” Institute in Pune for competitive exams, was identified as Samadhan Sambhaji Bhete (31 years old), a resident of Neer Nimbgaon, Indapur, Pune district.

The injured passenger, Police Sub-Inspector Mayur Sunil Dongre (29), who is stationed with the Mumbai Police, sustained injuries in the accident. Samadhan Bhete and his brother were residing in Mangalvar Peth at the time of the accident and were both preparing for competitive exams at the “Swarupvardhini” Institute.

According to the police, Samadhan and Mayur’s friend is a sub-district officer, whose wedding took place on Saturday (May 10) in Sortapwadi, Loni Kalbhor. A Haldi ceremony was held on Friday (May 9) night. After attending the ceremony around 11:45 PM, Samadhan and Mayur were on their way home when they lost control of their speeding motorcycle near the Kavdipat area of the Pune-Solapur Highway and crashed into the divider.

Upon receiving the information, the Loni Kalbhor Police reached the accident site immediately. Both injured individuals were rushed to a hospital. Unfortunately, Samadhan passed away around 7 AM on Saturday while undergoing treatment at a private hospital. The news of his tragic death spread shock among his peers at the “Swa-Roopwardhinee” Institute, who were preparing for competitive exams with him.

Samadhan’s family decided to donate his eyes after his death. His last rites were performed in his native village in Indapur taluka amidst a grieving atmosphere. He is survived by his parents and brother.
