Pune, 29 July 2021: The Zilla Parishad (ZP) has developed a new e-Learning App in collaboration with Infosys Company to provide online education to students in rural areas. The work on the app is in the final stages and is scheduled to be implemented in the next week. ZP CEO Ayush Prasad has designed the app himself by researching various educational courses.
The Central and State Governments will make the curriculum available class-wise on the app. Moreover, through this app, chapters and class-wise question banks (including answers) will be available. This is going to be Infosys’ first pilot project. This will also enable rural students to take online annual exams at home. Moreover, teachers and students from any taluka in the district will be able to check the examination paper of schools in other talukas, informed ZP CEO Prasad.
Infosys Company, Pune ZP, and the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET) have come together to develop this app. Accordingly, Infosys has taken responsibility for the cost of manufacturing it. The company will provide the app free of cost to the ZP. The Zilla Parishad has provided the details of the courses required for the app, subject, and class-wise question banks. The district education and training institute will work on courses, their changes, quality, etc.
The app will be implemented for students of classes VI to VIII in the first phase. This will benefit about 35,000 students in the district. This will help in improving the quality of schools.
