Pune’s Four Dams Reach 25.39% Storage as Monsoon Rainfall Picks Up

Pune, 19th June 2025: The monsoon has brought much-needed relief to Pune, as consistent rainfall in the catchment areas has significantly improved water levels in the city’s major dams. As of 6:00 am on Thursday, the combined live storage in the four major dams supplying water to Pune city—Khadakwasla, Panshet, Warasgaon, and Temghar—has reached 25.39%, more than double the level recorded on the same date last year.
According to official data, the total water stock in the four reservoirs now stands at 7.40 TMC (thousand million cubic feet), compared to just 3.62 TMC (12.43%) on this date in 2024. The rainfall and resultant inflow have brought hope to residents and authorities alike, who had been bracing for a delayed water supply scenario earlier this summer.
