Pune, 28th September 2023: The city’s revered Dagdusheth Halwai Ganapati concluded its Anant Chaturdashi procession in a grand spectacle that began at 4 PM today. As announced a month prior, the procession started from Belbagh Chowk and proceeded to Lakshmi Road, culminating in the immersion at Panchaleshwar Mandir Ghat at 8:50 PM.
Organized by the Shrimant Dagdusheth Halwai Public Ganapati Trust in its 131st year, the closing procession featured the Shree Ganadhish Rath, a chariot intricately designed to reflect the theme of the Shree Ram Temple in Ayodhya. The chariot was also adorned with eye-catching electric lights, adding to the grandeur of the event.
In line with the tradition of promoting public health awareness, an ‘Arogya Rath’ also participated in the procession. The chariot focused on various social themes aimed at educating the public about health issues. The procession was further enlivened by the presence of Prabhat Brass Band, Darbar Brass Band, Swaroop Vardhini’s Dhol-Lazim Team, and Sanai-Chowghada.
A significant number of female devotees joined their male counterparts in the procession, which reached Tilak Chowk at around 8:20 PM. The immersion ceremony at Panchaleshwar Mandir Ghat took place at 8:50 PM. The trustees expressed their gratitude for the smooth conduct of the event, attributing it to the cooperation of the police administration.
