Pune’s Scorching Heat Wave Amidst Rain Chaos: Hadapsar, Wadgaon Sheri, Koregaon Park Hit 43°C

Pune, 18th April 2024: In a city grappling with recent downpours causing widespread disruptions, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) Pune has just released crucial data on temperature variations across Pune.

Over the past 48 hours, Pune witnessed heavy rainfall, leading to severe traffic snarls, power failures, and substantial waterlogging issues. The rain, however, comes as a relief from scorching temperatures experienced just yesterday and the day before.

Maximum Temperature Records

Today’s IMD Pune report highlights the highest temperatures recorded, with Hadapsar topping the charts at 43.5°C, closely followed by Wadgaon Sheri at 43.1°C and Koregaon Park at 43.0°C. Notably, Lavasa and Lonavala reported slightly cooler temperatures within the Pune jurisdiction.

Minimum Temperature Report

In contrast, Hadapsar also ranks first in recording the highest minimum temperature today at 28.5°C, with Wadgaon Sheri and Magarpatta closely behind at 27.5°C each. Chinchwad and Koregaon Park experienced relatively cooler temperatures with readings at 26.8°C and 25.8°C, respectively.
