Queer Republic Conclave to Address Future of LGBTQIA+ Community in Pune
Pune, 9th April 2023: The Queer Republic Conclave, aimed at promoting inclusivity and diversity within the LGBTQIA+ community, is scheduled to take place on April 16, 2023, at the Maulana Abul Kalam Azad Auditorium in Koregaon Park, Pune. The event will be a platform for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, allies, and activists to discuss pertinent issues affecting the community and exchange ideas.
The conclave will feature prominent speakers and panel discussions on topics like community building, breaking down barriers, and the Queer Code (QC) – a set of guidelines that promote inclusivity and diversity within the LGBTQIA+ community. One of the highlights of the event will be the Pune Pride celebration that will take place during the conclave. The Pune Pride event will provide a platform for members of the LGBTQIA+ community to showcase their solidarity and support for each other.
Apart from promoting inclusivity, the Queer Republic Conclave aims to bring the LGBTQIA+ community to the forefront of mainstream politics. Representatives from all political parties have been invited to the event to discuss policy efforts made by their parties to promote the rights of the community. The event will also have discussions with Queer community members from different fields and activists to address the same.
According to Aniket Rao, the organizer of the conclave, the event is aimed at breaking down barriers and promoting equality in the community. The conclave seeks to explore ways to include the LGBTQIA+ community in mainstream politics, not just to a cell. The event will also provide an opportunity to learn from one another and network.
