Rahul Deshpande reaction on Marathi film ‘Me Vasantrao’ inclusion in reminder list for Oscars

Pune, 10 January 2023: The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences released a list of 301 feature films eligible for the prestigious Oscars and it included Marathi film ‘Me Vasantrao’, which starred national-award winning classical vocalist Rahul Deshpande.

On the development, Rahul Deshpande said, ‘I am absolutely delighted that the Oscars have taken note of our work. It is an important step with regard to Marathi musical films. I played the role of my grandfather Pandit Vasantrao Deshpande in the biographical movie, and also gave music to the film which is based on a real-life story. And thus the film is unique in its own way. Extremely happy over the development”
