Pune, 6th November 2024: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) president Raj Thackeray will be visiting Pune as part of his campaign for MNS candidates in the upcoming Maharashtra Assembly elections. Thackeray is set to hold meetings in Pune on November 9 and 13 for candidates contesting from various constituencies.

On November 9, meetings will be organized for MNS candidates from the Kasba and Kothrud assembly constituencies, while on November 13, campaign meetings will take place for the Khadakwasla and Hadapsar constituencies. However, the venues for these meetings have not yet been finalized, according to party officials.

MNS has fielded candidates in four of the eight assembly constituencies within Pune city, out of the 21 constituencies in Pune district. Thackeray’s visit is expected to give a significant boost to the party’s campaign as he continues his efforts to rally support for his candidates in these key constituencies.

Raj Thackeray had earlier caused a stir when he announced that MNS would contest the assembly elections independently, without supporting any of the major political alliances. The party had previously shown its unconditional support to the Grand Alliance (Mahayuti) during the Lok Sabha elections, raising questions about whether it would join the alliance for the state assembly polls. However, Thackeray clarified that MNS would field candidates independently, and has named Mayuresh Wanjale (son of late MNS MLA Ramesh Wanjale) from Khadakwasla, Mayor Sainath Babar from Hadapsar, former corporator Kishore Shinde from Kothrud, and Ganesh Bhokare from Kasba as its nominees.

Thackeray has been actively campaigning across Maharashtra, holding meetings where he has sharply criticized Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), BJP, and NCP (Ajit Pawar faction), calling for a change in leadership. Thackeray’s message has resonated with many voters who feel that it’s time for a new generation of leaders to take charge, particularly in Pune city, where the MNS has a strong following, especially among the youth.

Raj Thackeray’s past meetings in Pune have seen large crowds, indicating substantial support for his party. With his upcoming meetings in the city, political observers are keenly watching for Thackeray’s remarks, particularly regarding the current state of governance and his strategy to unseat the established political parties.
