Rajkummar Rao’s ‘Bhul Chuck Maaf’ Skips Theatrical Release Amid Tensions Post Operation Sindoor

New Delhi, 8 May 2025: Amid escalating tensions between India and Pakistan following the recent airstrikes in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) under Operation Sindoor, the makers of the film ‘Bhul Chuck Maaf’, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, have decided to cancel the film’s theatrical release.
Direct OTT Release Announced :
Citing public safety concerns and the ongoing national security situation, Maddock Films and Amazon MGM Studios announced that the time-loop comedy will now premiere directly on Amazon Prime Video on May 16.
Production house released a statement:
Taking to their official Instagram account, the production house released a statement which says, “Considering the recent events and the ongoing national security efforts, we have decided to bring our family entertainer ‘Bhul Chook Maaf’ directly to your homes. While we were eagerly waiting to celebrate this film with you in theatres, the nation comes first.”

Several Bollywood celebrities have praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisive action under Operation Sindoor, where the Indian Air Force targeted nine terror camps in PoK in retaliation for the Pahalgam terror attack on April 22.
