Residency Club honors Pune’s best with the 28th Pune’s Pride Awards

Pune, 8 January,2020 : Started in the year 1991, the Residency Club is a premier landmark in the ethos of Pune. Since 1992 the Residency Club has been honoring the dedicated and committed citizens of Pune, for their contribution towards academics, arts, corporate, cultural and social, sports and scientific fields with Pune’s Pride Awards.

This would be the 28th year that the Awards are being given to seven outstanding individuals, selected by experienced prominent Advisory Board of the club. The Pune’s Pride Award will be awarded on the 7th of January 2020 for exemplary work done by these individuals. The award will be given at the hands of chief guest Padma Bhushan Mr. Shekhar Gupta, eminent Journalist, founder and editor in chief of ‘The Print’ & Host – Walk the Talk on NDTV 24X7.

The chief guest Mr. Shekhar Gupta talked about his association with pune and how it has changed in the years gone by. He further adds about the dynamic transformation, “India as a country is going through and how the youth of today is actively changing the landscape of the country. He also thanked the pune’s pride awards team for giving him the opportunity to be a part of this magnificent occasion.”

This year the Lifetime Achievement Award will be awarded to corporate veteran and philanthropist Mr. Nitin Desai. Apart from being the chairperson and managing director of Desai Brothers Ltd which also owns the famous pickle and spices brand Mothers recipes. As a philanthropist he is actively involved in and supporting the causes of education and healthcare.

The recipient of the Corporate Award will be Mr. Pradeep Bhargava, a corporate veteran who worked with noted corporate giants such as CUMMINS and Persistent Systems. An active CII member, Mr. Bhargava also is the current president of MCCIA.

In addition to the Awards, Residency Club also recognizes the supreme sacrifice of those valiant soldiers who laid their lives for the service and protection of our Nation, by presenting sewing machines to the “Veer-Nari” of such unsung heroes.
