Rs 5000 to Rs 25000 fine for plastic bag users after June 23

A team of 225 inspectors has been established for this purpose

Pimpri – The state government has declared the date of implementation of the ban on plastic bags and plastic items to be 23rd June. Since the date is near the government is planning on taking penal actions on the ones who disobey. Anybody found using plastic bags or similar products will be fined Rs 5000 – Rs 25000.

For this purpose the Pimpri Chinchwad municipal corporation (PCMC) has appointed a team of 225 inspectors, among them, the municipality has announced the names of 107 team members in the shops and establishments division.

The inspectors are authorized to check up and at actions (if needed) against the shopkeepers, users.

The plastic stuff includes viz. plastic bags, use and throw items, parcel and packing containers, etc.
