Mumbai, March 23, 2021: The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) said on Tuesday that suspended police officer Sachin Vaze was involved in the murder of businessman Mansukh Hiran and would approach the court seeking his custody. Suspended police officer Sachin Vaze was arrested in connection with the investigation into the recovery of a car explosive near the residence of industrialist Mukesh Ambani. Last month, the Mumbai court gave the National Investigation Agency (NIA) his remand on 25 March.

ATS chief Jayjit Singh at a press conference stated, “We need to take him under custody and will approach the court.” Earlier, the ATS said that they have seized a high-end car in the case of Mansukh Hiran’s murder. The Volvo car with Maharashtra registration has been seized. On Monday, an official stated that the owner of the car is unknown at the moment.

In Mansukh Hiran’s murder case last Monday, Thane ATS had an accused Vinayak Shinde recite the scene by going to the place where the body of Mansukh Hiran was found on 5 March. Vinayak Shinde also told that the arrested Vaze is the main conspirator in the case. Vinayak is already a convicted prisoner. He is serving a life sentence in a fake encounter case.

These days he was out on parole. Since he had once worked with Sachin Vaze, Vaze made him his partner in the Mansukh case as well. A bookie has also been arrested along with him. According to ATS sources, after taking Sachin into custody, the ATS will also interrogate Vinayak Shinde along with Sachin Vaze.
