SAS-II Mock Test Boosts PCDA(SC) Pune Officials’ Preparation for Upcoming Examination

Pune, 7th September 2023: In a commendable display of utter devotion, dedication and foresight, Dr. Rajeev Chavan, IDAS, ndc, Principal Controller of Defence Accounts (SC) Pune, took proactive steps to prepare and empower Part-I qualified officials for the upcoming Subordinate Accounts Service (SAS) Part-II examination, slated to be held on September 14th and 15th, 2023.

During the May 2023 Departmental exam, Subordinate Accounts Service (SAS)-I, a staggering number of over 1500 officials from the CGDA department triumphed, with 100 of these achievers hailing from PCDA (SC) Pune alone. The successful completion of SAS-I opens up an opportunity for promotion to the esteemed position of Assistant Accounts Officers within the Defence Accounts Department (DAD).

The SAS examination comprises two parts: Part-I and Part-II, with Part-I already successfully concluded. Now, with an unwavering commitment to the principles of “minimum Government and maximum Governance,” the focus is on automating the department, harnessing IT Tools, reducing skul drudgery, streamlining processes, enhancing staff training, and promoting efficient operations. This strategic shift aims to infuse Transparency, Accountability, and Probity into the department’s functioning.

In recognition of the pivotal nature of this transition, Dr. Rajeev Chavan, PCDA (SC) Pune, orchestrated a one-month Preparatory Training program including Mock Practice Test and Session for the Part-I qualified candidates. This comprehensive training program featured a blend of both in-person and digital classroom sessions, facilitated by esteemed IDAS Officers, including Mr. Mahesh Dale, IDAS, Addl. CDA, Mr. B.S. Kamble, IDAS, Jt.CDA, and Dr. Chavan himself. The rigorous training was designed to equip the SAS-I successful officials with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in SAS Part-II and in turn serve both the department and the nation.

As a significant milestone in this endeavour, Dr. Rajeev Chavan conducted a Mock Test/Practice Drill on September 6th, 2023, at Nakara Hall, PCDA (SC) Pune. This mock test not only boosted the confidence levels of the Part-I qualified officials but also familiarized them with the examination format and helped refine their time-management skills.

The Mock test SAS-II is expected to be of immense benefit and help to these 101 candidates as they prepare to face the SAS Part-II examination, scheduled for September 14th and 15th, 2023. This examination comprises four papers, including negative marking. Dr. Chavan expressed his complete confidence in the candidates’ dedication and the faculty’s hard work, predicting that a majority of these individuals will emerge as future leaders within the department.

He extended his heartfelt best wishes and blessings to all these aspiring officers who will act as futuristic ambassadors and torch bearers of Defence Accounts Department being one of the oldest in GOI established in 1747 AD.
